One of Texas country music's brightest rising stars is coming to Sul Ross State University. William Beckmann will headline "Live at Gallego," a benefit concert supporting Sul Ross athletics.
Beckmann isn't just another country act — he's a bilingual, border-bred storyteller whose sound bridges classic country, traditional pop, and the mariachi roots of his Mexican heritage. Raised in Del Rio, he's built a devoted following on the strength of a rich baritone voice and songs that feel unmistakably real. After breaking out with the independent releases "Faded Memories" and "Here's To You, Here's To Me," Beckmann brought the house down at his Grand Ole Opry debut with a standing-ovation performance of the Spanish classic "Volver, Volver." His major-label debut, "Whiskey Lies & Alibis," cemented his reputation as one of the most authentic voices telling the story of the Texas-Mexico border through song.
Joining him is Texas singer-songwriter Jackson Wendell, whose heartfelt performances and genuine songwriting have made him a favorite on stages across the state.
Schedule: 6pm table seating and dinner. 7pm doors open for general admission. 7:45pm Jackson Wendell takes the stage. 8:30pm live auction. 9pm William Beckmann headlines.
